China Textile City, located in Keqiao District, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, is the largest professional textile market in Asia, with an annual textile transaction volume accounting for about a quarter of the world's. In the first half of this year, this place was hit by the local new crown pneumonia epidemic twice in a row, but the transaction in the entire market did not drop but rose in the first seven months, showing a state of off-season.
Right now is in the off-season of the textile industry, but in this store in Shaoxing Textile City, the reporter saw that the staff were busy opening orders and sending samples to customers. At this company, batches of goods are being sent to new customers along the Belt and Road.
From January to July this year, the market group turnover of China Textile City was 138.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. Although the increase is not high, for many merchants here, it is not easy to come by.
Spring was originally the peak sales season for the market, but this year they encountered the epidemic twice. Difficulties such as logistics blockage and raw material price hikes followed one after another.
At the most difficult time, a series of government-issued relief policies to help enterprises came into effect, ranging from finance, finance, social security, employment, etc., each of the relief measures became timely and stabilized many market players.
However, in order to truly tide over the difficulties, the merchants themselves need to redouble their efforts.
The person in charge of this company, which specializes in fashionable women's clothing fabrics, told reporters that this year, they have accelerated the pace of upgrading from production to sales. On the one hand, it has developed a variety of high-end acetate fabrics to improve the product quality; at the same time, it has established its own designer team to make fabrics with the thinking of ready-to-wear, and combined with the e-commerce model to develop the market.
Shao Lingbin told reporters that in order to improve efficiency, they also digitized the entire production process this year.
Transformation and upgrading have significantly improved efficiency. In the first seven months of this year, Dashu Textile's sales increased by 40% over the same period last year.
In the face of fluctuations in the international market, many export-oriented merchants are also looking for a new way out. While developing new customers along the “Belt and Road”, they increase investment in the large domestic market. The company currently accounts for 70% of its sales in the domestic market.
Zou Xiangping told reporters that after solving the problem of survival, they are expanding the team of designers and optimizing the operation team.
Not long ago, the construction of Shaoxing's first railway port officially started. After the completion, the export goods of China Textile City can be directly declared at the local customs, and connected to the "Yi-Xin-Europe" China-Europe train, which greatly reduces the logistics cost of enterprises.
Yuan Xiaowen, member of the Standing Committee of the Keqiao District Committee of Shaoxing City, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of China Textile City: We will strengthen the sea-rail combined transportation, open the "Yi-Xin-Ou" Keqiao train, and deepen the market procurement trade and the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test area.
